Community Involvement

Roy Maas Youth Alternatives
Since 2002, Eckard Companies has been actively involved with the Roy Maas Youth Alternatives organization. Troy Eckard has served on their board since 2005. This organization provides a loving and fear free home for children that have been neglected or abandoned. Mr. Eckard is very committed to the children of Roy Maas Youth Alternatives and has donated numerous items for their benefit. He has also encourages his family, friends and employees to do the same. Year-End Party 2009
Each and every year, Troy W. Eckard, his family and staff host a year-end party for all the students at Roy Maas Youth Alternatives for successfully completing another school year. On May, 29, 2009, Eckard Companies hosted another Year-End Party bringing the children pizza, ice cream sundaes, activites, games and lots of fun! Click here to view photographs of the recent Year-End Party.

2008 Humanatarian Award
Troy W. Eckard and his wife, Kathryn, were recognized for their commitment, generosity and genuine love for the children at Roy Maas Youth Alternatives. Together they received the 2008 Roy Maas Humanatarian Award on March 5, 2009 at a luncheon ceremony at Ruth’s Chris Steak House. Click here to view a photograph that was featured in the San Antonio Express News.

“Win One For The Kids” Casino Night
Roy Maas Youth Alternatives (RMYA) had their 1st Annual Casino Night Fundraiser on May 2, 2008. Troy Eckard, along with his wife Kathryn, received the 2008 Humanitarian Award in front of more than 300 guests in attendance. Click here to read more about this successful event from RMYA’s newsletter.  They were also in the September 2008 issue of “Scene in San Antonio” magazine for the event: Click here for the featured section.

Breakfast of Champions
Eckard Companies hosted the Breakfast of Champions event at its office on July 18, 2006. This event was put on by the Helping Hands organization sponsored by Don Strange of Texas. Children from the Roy Maas Youth Alternatives organization attended breakfast at the Eckard Companies office in Boerne, Texas and were then given a tour and presentation by Eckard Companies’ president, Troy W. Eckard. Mr. Eckard explained the details of how he started his business and how he was able to become a successful businessman. He encouraged the children to set their goals high and work hard to achieve them.

Hometown Hero
Troy W. Eckard, president of Eckard Companies, was selected as the 2005 Fair Oaks Hometown Hero. Nominated by Roy Maas Youth Alternatives, Mr. Eckard was very honored to accept such a prestigious award.
